Apple asked us to change everything
Heads up: we switched from F1 Copilot to Grid Copilot and changed domains, and our last email landed in a lot of spam folders because of it. Sorry if this is the first you're hearing from us in a while, and worth checking your spam folder for anything you missed.
On Android? iOS is launching first, Android still needs a bit more time. But the new name, the new look, and the new alerts below are for everyone, so stick around.
Apple asked us to
change everything!
Ok, not everything. But "F1" is a trademarked brand and Apple would not approve an app that used it in the name, so F1 Copilot is now Grid Copilot: the same app with the same alerts and some new ones, we are simply not allowed to call it what we used to. That part is sorted now, and the app is ready.
You're getting this early because you signed up when we had nothing but a landing page. The iOS app is ready for testing, and you're one of the first people to get it.
And honestly, this might not be the end of it. We use team names and driver names all over the app too, and we don't know yet if those are next. If they are, you'll hear it from us here first.
How to get it
Apple requires early access apps to go through TestFlight, their own app for testing. If you've got an iPhone, keep an eye out for a separate invite email from Apple next week.
Open it on your iPhone and it'll walk you straight to the App Store to grab TestFlight, then to the latest version of Grid Copilot. Accept the invite and you're in, and you'll get every update automatically as we ship them.
Creating your account
Sign in with whatever's easiest: your email, your Apple ID, or your Google account. All 3 work the same way, pick one and you're in.
A cool new look, too
The app looks different from anything you saw before. We're big retro game fans, and you'll feel it the moment you open it.
Grid Copilot sends you a notification the moment something happens on track, written in plain English. We've added some awesome new ones, and made an existing one sharper.
Tyres wearing down NEW
A driver's pace starts dropping off lap after lap. We flag it as soon as the pattern is clear, so you know a pit stop might be coming, or that the drivers behind might start closing in.
Stay-Out Risk NEW
Tyres wearing down is about a driver's own pace. This one is about who's catching them. A rival is closing in lap by lap on track, sometimes on fresher tyres, sometimes just plain faster, and gaining fast enough to jump them once the numbers catch up.
Overtake Mode NEW
2026's new rule gives a speed boost to any driver within 1 second of the car ahead at the end of a lap. They start the next lap with the boost active, and we tell you the moment that happens, before the overtake attempt even begins.
Fresh tyres paying off NEW
A safety car gives drivers a rare chance to pit for new tyres without losing much time. Some take the bet, some stay out and gamble on their place on track instead. We call it the moment that bet wins them a spot, or costs them one.
The next race is the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa next week, on Sunday July 19. That's your first live race with the app in hand.
One heads up: a lot changed under the hood to get this build ready, and some of it can only really get tested with a live race feed. If an alert looks off or arrives late during the Belgian GP, that's why. Tell us what you see. It helps us fix it faster than anything else.
