Antonelli started 19th on Sunday, at a track where the man on pole usually just drives off into the distance, in front of a crowd who had come to watch Ferrari.
Nobody had ever won this race from further back than 11th. He passed 25 cars getting there, which no driver has ever done in one Grand Prix. And the Italian anthem played at Monza for an Italian, in front of a grandstand who had turned up to watch somebody else. Nobody there had seen that happen. Nor had their parents.

The Race
Ferrari had everything lined up. A new engine, more power, their home race, and a crowd that turns Monza into something closer to a football ground. All they had to do was drive.
They lasted about thirty seconds, and the person who ended it was wearing the same red. Leclerc squeezed Hamilton out wide at the first corner and cost his own teammate places he was never getting back. There was room. He kept it.
On lap 3 Leclerc put it in the barriers. On his own, in front of the people who had queued since dawn to watch him. The race was stopped, and Ferrari's afternoon was over before it started.
