Race Notes

What happened, and why. Every race of the 2026 season, told through the alerts Grid Copilot sent while it was happening.

Antonelli started 19th. He won at Monza.

Antonelli started 19th on Sunday, at a track where the man on pole usually just drives off into the distance, in front of a crowd who had come to watch Ferrari.

100+ of you now. Monza on Sunday, 1.0.4 is out.

We just passed 100 users. Thank you for being here, for telling us what was wrong, and for sticking with it while we fixed it.

Verstappen was out on lap 1. Then Russell was told to move aside.

The last ever race at Zandvoort, and the home crowd got 1 lap of it before Verstappen was out of it.

The break is over. 12 races to go.

F1 comes back this weekend at Zandvoort, and it's a sprint weekend, so there's a race on Saturday and another on Sunday.

What we fixed after Hungary, and what Norris got right

First, thank you. Several of you wrote in during and after the race, and almost everything below came from something one of you spotted.

Three teams, no clear favourite. Hungary is wide open.

Qualifying is today, and the Hungarian Grand Prix is tomorrow. Practice was close, with three different teams near the front. First, the app.

Antonelli wins in Belgium. Russell's race lasted one corner.

Antonelli started on pole and Verstappen briefly took the lead into the first corner, but Antonelli had it back before the lap ended.

Apple asked us to change everything

Heads up: we switched from F1 Copilot to Grid Copilot and changed domains, and our last email landed in a lot of spam folders because of it.

Leclerc wins Silverstone. The real last lap never happened.

Antonelli started on pole but had a bad start, and both Ferraris blew past him before the first corner. Leclerc led from there and controlled the race.

Hamilton took pole by 0.011 seconds. Antonelli won the sprint anyway.

The pole margin was too small to see with the naked eye, and it barely mattered.

3 drivers could have won this race. Only one team got it right.

Verstappen started P5 after a mechanical failure in qualifying wrecked his car. He was past Antonelli by lap 2 and behind Hamilton by lap 3.

A quick update on what we've been building

Between races we've been improving the alerts the app sends during a live race.

Hamilton took the lead on pace. A virtual safety car locked it in.

We missed Monaco. We were offline for a bit, recharging before the second half of the season. We're back for Barcelona, and it did not disappoint.

McLaren bet on rain. The sun was out, Russell's car died, and Antonelli won.

McLaren and Audi put on rain tyres at the start. There was no rain. They realised the mistake and pitted to fix it, but the damage was already done.

Antonelli could have won this race. He pushed too hard and finished P3.

Russell led from the start. Antonelli was P2 and went after him.

Norris hunted him for 29 laps. Antonelli held him off.

Antonelli just won his 3rd race in a row. Under pressure from the championship leader the whole way.

Kimi Antonelli had P2. Then the race started.

Antonelli qualified P2. The teenager everyone says is the next Hamilton. Then the lights went out and he lost positions again. It has been a pattern.
